Hi,
a new version of the 1.26.8.3 stable branch.
This one is a little bit more testing a new compiler and optimization settings for it. I would be interested
in feedback about it, to decide if those new compiler settings are acceptable or not.
It works on my machine (early 2008 MBP running 10.8.3), but might fail on others.
Main changes:
- use llvm-gcc-4.2 compiler instead of the very old gcc-4.0 which was used for OS X 10.3.9
- tune optimizations to the Intel Core 2 CPU (e.g. older machines with just a Core Duo from 2006 might not be able to run it,
anything released by Apple since 2007 should be able to use it).
(you can find out if you have a Core Duo or Core 2 by going to the apple menu 'About this mac' and check the Processor text)
So please comment if it doesn't work for you. I'm also interested if there are people running Cool Viewer on anything that
does not at least have a Core2, as it would be easy to just change compilers but keep the optimizations at older levels if needed.
Otherwise it is just a normal 1.26.8.3 version.
