Here is a new release of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

This is a bugfix release. Since two serious bugs were fixed, all users should update.

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.24 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Fixed a bug (introduced by mistake a while ago, and due to a bogus optimization: sometimes my brain just farts...) in the experiences cache name resolution (cached experiences were not affected, but new ones failed to get resolved).
  • Fixed a bug in the texture fetcher, that could lead to a texture fetch failure and one CPU core 100% load till next TP.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a new "Ignore landing point" group role action.
  • Added a missing check for @shownames and @shownametags RestrainedLove restrictions in the "look at" crosshair name drawing algorithm (i.e. do not show avatar names there any more when these restrictions are in force).
  • Code cleanup and minor optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

Here is a new release of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Since many bugs have been fixed (including one rare crash bug), updating to it is highly recommended.

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.26 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Fixed a rare crash bug in LLFace destructor.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-lynx the ability to keep running (instead of stupidly committing suicide) when unknown UDP sim messages are received.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "viewer may silently empty trash without the users request under obscure inventory folder states".
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "empty cached image being used instead of fetching".
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "inability to drag a folder into object contents".
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "object changed its position in-world but value in Edit tool was not changed".
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "search places check box not showing as checked to non-land-owners".
  • Changed the Mute list floater so that avatars and objects currently present in the sim get their name listed in bold characters (note that this is only updated on floater opening or refresh to prevent any overhead in the viewer main loop).
  • Changed the "look at" notification so that the avatar name format (legacy/display name) it gives follows the user preferences.
  • Implemented curl HTTP bandwidth accounting, and changed the bandwidth indicator in the status bar to reflect the accumulated UDP+HTTP bandwidth (also, the indicator now turns gray and flashes whenever the network link is lost/down).
  • Now that the feature made its way in LL's release viewer, made the ViewerAsset capability usage the default behavior (i.e. UseViewerAssetCap is now TRUE by default).
  • Extended and improved the Lua scripting and automation features. See this thread for details.
  • Code cleanup and minor optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

This is a bugfix release, updating to it is recommended.

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.27 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Yet more code hardening in LLMeshRepository::getStreamingCost() in order to try and get rid of those rare but pesky crashes on some bogus rigged meshes rezzing (Nth attempt, this time mine, after LL's many ones).
  • Backported from LL's viewer-axon several potential crash bug fixes in LLVOAvatar class.
  • Improved network bandwidth status bar indicator scaling and implemented auto-scaling for the equivalent indicator in the Statistics floater.
  • Minor code cleanup and optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.28 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Rewrote the whole RestrainedLove command execution and queuing logic to prevent race condition issues. See the release notes section in the RestrainedLoveReadme.txt file for details.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to flexible primitives that were not animated independently of the frame rate.
  • Fixed issues with menu item accelerator keys getting wrongly stuffed into any focused input line/text editor, while other accelerator keys got ignored. Changed a few menu accelerators in the process.
  • Windows only: backported from LL's viewer-release the code allowing to advertise the viewer as "DPI aware" and thus to prevent Windows to scale the resolution of the viewer when the Windows UI scale is not set to 100%.
  • Minor code cleanup and optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.29 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Fixed more race conditions and bugs in RestrainedLove. See the release notes section in the RestrainedLoveReadme.txt file for details.
  • Fixed a rare crash bug in LLRender.
  • Fixed the "Optimized rigged mesh shadows" rendering, which got broken (render glitches) during the Bento backport.
  • Fixed yet more issues with menu item accelerator keys (and changed the accelerator key for "Look at last chatter" to a key present on all keyboard layouts, at least on the numeric keypad).
  • Backported from LL's viewer64 a fix to the TOS web page taking too long to load.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko, and further generalized, a fix to memory allocation failures that could cause crashes in the mesh repository code (mainly relevant to 32 bits builds).
  • Extended and improved the Lua scripting and automation features. See this thread for details.
  • Minor code cleanup and optimizations.

Here is a new release of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.30 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Allowed to embed calling cards in note cards and added a "New calling card" entry in the context menu of the "Calling cards" inventory folder, in order to allow creating a new calling card there for your avatar.
  • Cleaned up inventory objects creation code to remove useless operations and bogus warnings.
  • Backported from Firestorm (Beq Janus' code) a fix to BUG-134006 (inconsistency between server and viewer for physics shape for thin objects).
  • Backported from Firestorm (Beq Janus' code, further improved by me) the automatic derendering of objects which network data contains bogus parameters (usually seen in crasher objects). The feature is off by default and the toggle is in "Advanced" -> "Network" ("Auto-kill bogus objects" entry). The corresponding debug setting ("KillBogusObjects") has been added to the list of white-listed settings for Lua writes.
  • Added an "EnableAttachmentSounds" setting (TRUE by default), so that when set to FALSE, sounds coming from other avatars' attachments and played via llPlaySound() get muted (note: sounds played via llTriggerSound() are (alas) unaffected since those are not flagged as attached to an object at all). The corresponding check box can be found in the "Preferences" floater, "Audio & media" tab, "Audio" sub-tab.
  • Extended and improved the Lua scripting and automation features. See this thread for details.
  • Minor code cleanup and speed optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

Here is a new release of the Cool VL Viewer, available now from http://sldev.free.fr/:

This is a bugfix release and since crash bugs have been fixed, all users should update to it.

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.31 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Fixed a crash bug in animation uploading, that got triggered when a looping animation was previewed and playing on your avatar and you hit the "Upload" button without first stopping it.
  • Fixed a rare crash bug in the attachments sounds muting feature introduced in last release.
  • Fixed the (antediluvian) bug that caused animations to play at a fast pace on "impostored" avatars.
  • Changed the default value of the "KillBogusObjects" variable to TRUE (i.e. "Advanced" -> "Network" -> "Auto-kill bogus objects" is now enabled by default), since it proved to prevent crashes on some OpenSim grids.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to a memory leak (and possibly a rare crash bug) in LLVertexBuffer.
  • Backported from LL's viewer64 and improved the texture and object caches segregation between 32 and 64 bits viewer binaries (i.e. do not use any more a cache created by a 32 bits viewer binary with a 64 bits one, and vice versa). Note: this change will cause these caches to be cleared on first launch of this viewer version (and each time you would switch between 32 and 64 bits Cool VL Viewer binaries).
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "typing a slash in the internal browser moves focus to the chat window".
  • Some code cleanup and minor optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D

Cool VL Viewer v1.26.20.32 (stable branch):

New in this release:
  • Added syntax highlighting and tootips for the new OBJECT_CREATION_TIME, OBJECT_SELECT_COUNT and OBJECT_SIT_COUNT LSL constants.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to a potential crash bug in preview (notecard, gesture, script) floaters.
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a memory usage and speed optimization to image decoding (should be especially of benefit to 32 bits builds, by reducing virtual address space fragmentation).
  • Backported from LL's viewer-neko a fix to "avatar follows the object only once when object's location is changed in Edit mode".
  • Backported from LL's Axon viewer the addition of attachment points to the list of riggable joints in mesh uploads.
  • Some code cleanup and minor optimizations.

Enjoy ! :D
