Hi Henri,

first of all, thanks for bringing MOAP to the viewer -- this definitely adds to shared in-world experiences! :D So far it seems to work without a flaw. Next step will be to try and bring nasty old 32-bit browser plugins to the webkit-engine on a 64-bit multiarch system.

Now for the "issue" (which may not really be one at all). Some time after updating, I noticed that while MOAP works fine, the built-in browser floaters all rendered black on black (i.e. the logon screen, or the "Web" search window, or even URLs opened in a dedicated browser floater). Since nobody else mentioned it until yesterday, I realized it's probably on my end and decided to hunt it down.

To make a long story short, the culprit was having RenderCompressTextures enabled. With it on, the rendering is all black on black, seemingly without error in the log, and the elements are there as the cursor does change with the presumed content when the mouse is moved across it.

Turning the option off fixes the issue, and since it's marked experimental, I prepare to be chided for it. No less, I thought you might want to know about it.

System info follows. I skipped the logs, but could provide them if actually needed.

Yes, it's experimental... It works for me (GTX 460 with NVIDIA v310.19 driver, i.e. the same driver as yours), but there is no guarantee whatsoever that it will work for everyone... Note also that texture compression only deals with how textures are stored in the VRAM of the graphics card (not in the memory of the computer itself), and that it is mainly meant for graphics card with little on-board memory (i.e. your GTX 670 will perform better without compression anyway).

Oh duh. Thank you so much for clearing that up. In that case, yes, I think there is more than enough RAM in the card.
