Rendering Problem - West Sky is Blackened

There seems to be a problem in rendering the sky under certain conditions with the Cool VL Viewer.

The gist of it is if you have Basic Shaders enabled and Atmospheric Shaders disabled, then sometimes the sky turns black when you are facing west.

I only noticed this in regions running Magnum RC after the Interest List project was introduced. (Mid January). It does not happen for me when in a non-Magnum region.

However, if I turn off basic shaders (or turn on atmospheric shaders) then even while in Magnum, the issue stops happening.

I've attached a screen shot to the JIRA at second life.

I apologize that I don't know how better to describe this. I don't know if it's exactly Cool VL Viewer related. The person who told me about the Phoenix JIRA said that it's only in the "Phoenix Mesh branch which uses Cool VL Viewer code".

Here is my JIRA: https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/BUG-1558

And a very similar one is listed here: http://jira.phoenixviewer.com/browse/PHOE-3574

Sorry Henri - I read the rules and saw it said if there was an official JIRA to just post a link to that.

I'll get the log info gathered and add that.

This is an issue with the current RC Magnum sim server that is completely crippled (many tools using libOpenMetaverse also got troubles dealing with messaging in RC Magnim sim, with increased bandwidth, bad packets and a whole bunch of troubles). I guess you will have to wait (and hope) till LL fixes these bugs. They are not due to the viewer itself.

Thanks for looking into it Henri,

I sure hope they get all the bugs out before they decide to roll these things out into the rest of the grid.

Cheers!
