I still cannot reproduce this bug, regardless of how hard I try. The group stuff won't make any difference either (inventory items UUIDs don't depend on the group, and the viewer doesn't care about the group when syncing attachments based on UUIDs stored in the outfit.xml file and in the inventory): I tried that, nevertheless, but found no problem whatsoever. I'm starting to suspect a server bug but, by lack of any way to reproduce it myself, I can't prove it either...

I always wondered why changing the group fixes quite some stuff that has nothing to do with groups at all. Maybe something slid in somewhere where it doesn't belong or there is some really weird dependency somewhere.
Like change the group and voila, your appareance gets fixed. Sounds silly, I know.

Ha, ha! Probably in a lot of cases indeed… But some things are confirmed and weird: derender some objects, change your group tag, wait a few seconds and here are the objects again. Never understood what derendered objects had to do with group tags, but it works, it's a trick I'm using regularly.

This is because your group tag change triggers a re-run of the interest list sending on the server side (probably because of group-dependent things such as parcel access and stuff like that).; granted, it should not affect objects themselves (but perhaps for vehicles you are sitting onto), but it's probably a lack of proper optimization from LL's part. This said, a group change doesn't trigger a change of the inventory items UUIDs, and that's really all what the viewer and the server care for as far as initial outfit is concerned.

Today's releases got more debug messages added in order to try and spot the problem. Please, follow to the letter (especially with the necessary delay before logging off: I want to see in the logs a full minute elapsed between the last message dealing with the inventory and the logout out message !) the procedure described here and post the corresponding logs.

Well, if it worked as expected, it doesn't give any useful info... I need the logs for a case when the second login causes a failure...

Yeah. I don't know what I was thinking. Here's a couple more where the attachments detached and I rewore them.

This is weird... With no trace of "Expected attachment: " messages that should be there as a result of being in outfit.xml... It's like if the outfit.xml file got modified between the two sessions, or like if the attachments part got mysteriously wiped out !... And I don't see anything in the code that could explain this. I'll add yet more debug messages to the next releases (with full outfit.xml contents dump in the log), but in the mean time you could try and observe (with an editor, preferrably one that can detect the change to the file by another program and ask you if you wish to reload the file) what happens to the outfit.xml file between two such sessions...
