hey,

with the latest CV i get "Second Life is already running" when i click on a SLURL or secondlife:// link in firefox, instead of getting the location popup in the client.

It used to work "a few" versions ago, not too long ago... what can i do?

upon closer inspection it actually seems to be a CV bug... since it works with vanilla SL but not CV...

sending a slurl to a running instance fails _silently_ (nothing in the logfile that comes from debug output in LLAppViewerLinux::sendURLToOtherInstance()

looks like

if (!grab_dbus_syms(DBUSGLIB_DYLIB_DEFAULT_NAME))
{
return false; // failed
}

is where it breaks.

every other failure situation in that method produces debug output... and as i said, it only hits CV, not the vanilla viewer.

There is no such bug.

Please, check your firefox association for the secondlife:// protocol.

Please also note that SLURLs are *not* available when RestrainedLife is enabled.

Simply open the Preferences floater, go to the "Cool features" tab, and uncheck the RestrainedLife option, then restart the viewer.

I've been thinking about this, shouldnt that RLV feature only be active through a toggleable restraint?
similar to "allow map" or "allow landmark"?

No, because it is there to prevent a caged/trapped avatar to log off and back on in another place, thus escaping the trap on relog, and there is no way for the viewer to know if the device will restrict it back up or not on relog...
