Hello,

first post here... thank you for your great work Henri !! :)

I recently noticed a small bug, not sure if it comes from the viewer or not but still.. i was used to go to movement controls to ajust the height of my avatar but since few weeks ago, the small arrows doesn't work anymore.. I know that there is a LL bug about this (even if i'm not sure i really understand what happens after having read the topic about hover)

I would like to know if this is a bug from Cool VL and if there is another way to adjust this setting or if we have to wait for LL to fix their bug..

Thank you

(sorry for my basic english and sorry if you already answered this question and that i didn't understand it ;) )

The Z offset works just fine in SL...

Since you failed to provide the required info for bug reports, I'm going to make a wild guess:

I guess that you are using an old release... Update to the latest releases. The Z offset feature has been changed to work in SSB sims weeks ago, but if you are using an older release, the Z offset won't work any more.

Well..

you guessed half-wrong then..

okay i wasn't on the latest release, but 1.26.8.27 so not so old.

i updated it to the latest stable one so 1.26.8.30 and i still have the same problem, impossible to set the Z offset (even without RLV activated so it's not due to a rlv restriction)

Thank you

Please, provide *all* the requested info, i.e. the logs !!! Also, I suppose your avatar is wearing a mod-ok shape (else, the Z-offset is unavailable)...

Hello. I'm having a similar problem. I'm wearing a custom mesh avatar with bone offsets. I tried adjusting the height above the ground through the "Hover" slider in my shape which works in the LL viewer (second life 3-6-9-282535). However, in Cool VL, it won't go any lower than 50 (although it does go higher ), and my avatar hovers above the ground while walking.

This is not a bug. The Cool VL Viewer uses a fix that went into LL's viewer Sunshine branch and that didn't yet make its way to the official viewer. This fix prevents issues with the camera when the avatar pelvis goes too low and below the ground. If your mesh needs too large an offset, then it's obviously badly designed (it was not uploaded with an appropriate pelvis offset and needs to be re-uploaded properly): please complain to the mesh creator/uploader.

Please, also note that the Hover offset is done to make for the breakage of the Z offset that was caused by the server-side baking code. It is a *temporary* offset (normally used for adjusting laying/crouching/kneeling/sitting-on-groung animations above the ground), it is not meant for permanent avatar size adjustment (this shall be performed either via wearable shoes + alpha if needed, or via the avatar shape height itself (suitable for full mesh avatars requiring to wear a full body alpha), or via the pelvis offset on upload of the mesh avatar); the Cool VL Viewer will reset the Z offset (i.e. the Hover parameter) to zero at each new login and each time the shape is changed (when it is mod-ok), but you can also adjust this offset in near-real time via the spinner in the Movement Controls floater ("View" -> "Movement controls" to show it).
Finally, this offset is also used by the @adjustheight command of RestrainedLove: if you have scripted items that make use of this command and have RestrainedLove enabled, the Z offset/Hover parameter will change under the control of these items.
