It's apparently a (random, since it only impacts a few people) crash during media initialization, and could be the result of a bug that LL just got fixed (here is yesterday's commit to viewer-release).

The bug affects the winmm.dll provided with the viewer: I always wondered why LL bothered creating such a DLL at all, since there's a Windows equivalent that is normally installed with the OS itself...
Anyway, the fix is already included in next Cool VL Viewer releases. In the mean time, try removing winmm.dll from the Cool VL Viewer installation directory: the viewer will then resort on using the system's provided DLL, which could cure your crash.

Deleting the dll file did not stop the crashing.

There is another fix, to the sound engine (which is part of the media system), that could fix that bug. The fix will be in next releases.

There's however something you should check on your configuration and that could also explain the crash you get. In the log file you provided, there's one worrying warning:
Code:
2014-03-25T10:57:51Z WARNING: ll_apr_warn_status: APR: An attempt was made to access a socket in a way forbidden by its access permissions.
This should never happen !...

Please, check that your firewall or an anti-virus is not blocking the Cool VL Viewer's access to the network...

I can confirm that the reason for the crash you are encountering is due to a failure to initiate a network socket: I fixed the crash bug itself (that exists in all viewers), but it won't cure the fact the viewer would still be unable to communicate properly with the network on your system... You must ensure that nothing (firewall, anti-virus) is blocking the Cool VL Viewer's access to the network...

I found out my Firewall/Anti-virus software had been trying to sandbox Cool Viewer. I modified the appropriate settings and CL starts up fine now.

Thank you.
