When I try to log into Sandbox Plaza III, a VAR region on OSGrid, Cool VL Viewer fails. I can tp in and log in with Singularity64 without any problem. Log attached.

1.- I need the stack trace (Linux) or dump file (Windows): see the rules ! 2.- VAR REGION is in an extremely experimental state, both viewer-side and OpenSim-server side. I cannot guarantee it will always work... 3.- Like explained in the release notes, teleporting to a VAR REGION that is not connected to the viewer prior to the teleport action is bound to cause crashes (because the server doesn't send the proper region size data: that's apparently a server-side bug, or maybe a protocol flaw). A teleport may also appear to "work", but then you will crash later in the session... You should instead log in into the VAR REGION (again, see the release notes !). |

I found the problem (so no need for the crash dump any more). It deals with VAR REGIONs which size is not a power of 2 (256, 512, 1024...) and Sandbox Plaza III is a 768m wide region... The fix (a missing line in the VAR REGION backport) will be in next releases. In the mean time, you can't use the Cool VL Viewer in VAR REGIONs that don't have a power of 2 for their width. |
