Automatic alpha masks

Hello Henri,

I found some inconsistent behaviour of those two "Automatic alpha masks" toggles in advanced menu.

I got some hair that makes mesh clothing underneath partially transparent. "Automatic alpha masks" for non-deferred disabled -> all well. But when I now switch to deferred rendering, the transparent bit is there again. Clicking "Automatic alpha masks" for deferred doesn't work! AND: if I switch back to normal (by disabling deferred rendering), the "Automatic alpha masks" for non-deferred is then broken, too, not toggling the transparent bits underneath the hair on/off anymore, either.

Only relog helps (for non-deferred), but I can't fix the transparency bit for deferred mode at all, right now.

EDIT: Seems to be even more weird. Just relogged and the toggle was off and it showed the dress alphaed. Toggling it ON fixed it, but toggling it off again doesn't do anything anymore. Hm...

Client is not logging anything when switching those bits around. Log

Alpha-masking has always been an issue in SL for as far as I can remember. The alpha masks sorting is broken in most graphics drivers as well, which doesn't help.

In any case, I doubt very much it's a Cool VL Viewer specific bug, since the same algorithm for alpha masking is used as in LL's official viewer. I therefore suggest you try with LL's viewer and see if you get any different result.
