I am experiencing a problem with Cool VL Viewer not rezzing some sculpty prims correctly on my Mac under OS/X. Everything works fine in 1.26.14.0, but the problem appears consistently in 1.26.14.3 and 1.26.14.5. Instead of taking their proper shape, the prims appear as round, roughly apple-shaped blobs. I have tried all the usual tricks, like checking my LOD setting, restarting the viewer, purging cache, and even reinstalling the viewer, without success. Here are some pictures taken at this location, facing north-east: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/I ... 28/93/1604 I am linking to the pictures, because I don't know the policy about posting screenshots here. 1) Taken in 1.26.14.0 (correct): http://i.imgur.com/TLyu0EM.jpg2) Taken in 1.26.14.5 (incorrect): http://i.imgur.com/y05qZiz.jpg3) Taken in Linden Labs Viewer 3.7.23.297296 (correct): http://i.imgur.com/dt4bCpj.jpgI don't have a log, because my viewer does not crash. My computer details are:

Thats strange, I'm in 14.5 as well but don't have that problem, I have a lot of sculpts on my island. Maybe it has to do with object details settings?
You will have a log if you crash or not. It is in 'Library/Application\ Support/SecondLife/logs'

The bug is caused by a (apparently bogus) fix in LL's viewer-lion, that got backported to the Cool VL Viewer v1.26.14.1. Apparently, some of the invalid sculpts addressed by that fix in viewer-lion do exist in SL and don't render properly any more (they render as the default apple sculpty instead) once the "fix" is applied. Once that "fix" reverted, the sculpts render fine again in the sim where you encountered the problem. The next Cool VL Viewer releases will have that "fix" reverted too... There is ALWAYS a log file, crash or not (the crash only adds a crash dump or crash log, depending on the OS). Please, ALWAYS join the log to any bug report (you are lucky that the bug you reported here could be reproduced by me, else I'd have been left clueless), if only to avoid making me extremely grumpy against undisciplined users...

I am sorry about not supplying the log, Henri. I knew I was breaking the rules which is why I mentioned it. I did not understand correctly how the logging worked. I will do better next time.

Unfortunately, this problem seems to have come back between 1.26.14.6 and 1.26.14.10, at least on the Mac. The problem does not affect all the prims that it seemed to break last time, but it does break some of them, returning them to the default blob.
Edit: Further testing shows the prims in question looking blobby in 1.26.14.6 as well, so this might not be a version-change problem. I need to do more testing.

Please, provide a location (sim name and position), so that I could at least (try and) reproduce your issue.

Sorry Henri, I thought the log-file provided the location. It's in Insilico East at 20, 94, 1602. Go here, and look north-east: http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/INSILICO%20EAST/20/94/1602The oval blob in this picture is supposed to be a ruined skyscraper.

Yes, I can see it too... It's not a blob, it's an apple (i.e. the default sculpt map used for undefined sculpted prims)... Amazing the number of invalid sculpties in that sim, which cause many of the fixes that went into LL's viewer-lion and that I backported to the Cool VL Viewer to cause the "apple look" for those sculpties... Now, the (not so much) "fun game" is to find which change caused this behaviour... If you can find the newest release that is not affected, this would help me a lot !

Sorry I have been a bit slow getting to this, Henri. I have now tested the following (I drive a Mac, so I can only test releases available for that platform):
1.26.14.10 - Tested, Has the problem. 1.26.14.6 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* when I first started using it, or until after the first time I used 1.26.14.10. 1.26.14.5 - Not tested because I did not download this release, and Catten no longer has it for download. 1.26.14.3 - Tested, Has the problem, and did right from the first time I used it. 1.26.14.0 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer.
1.26.12.46 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer. 1.26.12.42 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer. 1.26.12.41 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer.
By this time, I was getting rather discouraged, so I jumped back a few releases to the oldest I still had archived:
1.26.12.33 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer.
Finally, I dug out an old Macbook that I don't use anymore and hooked it up:
1.26.4.94 - Tested, Has the problem now, but did *not* back when I was using it as my normal viewer.
So it rather looks to me as if there is a problem unrelated to Cool VL Viewer. Could it be server-side?
I hope this information isn't totally useless, and if I can do anything further, please let me know.
