Now this version crashes a lot more than before. It actually seemed more stable with .8 and the patched zip file than .9
The crashes you experienced previously are *totally unrelated*, and no, the patched version was not better: it got only one out of several bugs fixed when compared to the new version.

just now I crashed again at a sim called "The Mens Department" with only 10 other avatars on sim.
Please, give a sim name and coordinates !!!

Well, folks, went there, went in many info-hubs and sandboxes with many avatars around, tried to encounter any of them which would crash my viewer, and it is running rock stable for hours now... I just can't happen to reproduce the crashes you got, so I'm starting to wonder if it's not some graphics driver related crash.

Please, provide more logs and crash dumps, for *each and every crash* you get: the more info I will gather, the more likely I may understand what the Hell is going on there.

Also, please reply these questions:
- Are you crashing with other viewers (the part of the code which *seems* to be affected is used by all viewers) ?
- Is there an older Cool VL Viewer release (I'm especially thinking about a pre-jellydolls one, even if these crashes seem unrelated) which doesn't crash for you ?
- What are your impostors and complexity muting settings ?

EDIT: also, what render mode are you using: "ALM" (deferred) on or not ? If yes, with or without shadows ?

For me the crashes are verry rare and random. I will post more logs when it happenes.
- i do not use other viewers
- i did crash randomly in the past but did not pay enough atention
- my impostors are at 1 and complexity set to OFF
- ALM is off

Crashes should not happen at all (whenever one happens on my system, it immediately results in a crash bug fix or at least a work-around for next release)... Please report all crashes, unless you know they are not related with the viewer itself (system crash, CPU or GPU overheating, bad memory, OS bugs or things like that).

It has even crashed before on a sandbox with only 5 avatars on sim while I was getting over 100fps. So its got to be some mesh rendering optimization thing.
Mesh optimization occurs *every time* a new mesh is loaded and got no relation whatsoever with the current frame rate. Please, let programers like me diagnose the issues, and just give us the relevant info (logs and crash dumps, please, as always).

OK folks, I found a rendering bug (a problem with vertex buffers flags) that *might* cause weird issues (memory leaks, slow downs over time, perhaps memory corruptions and therefore weird crashes such as those you encountered). I patched the sources and created a new binary for v1.26.18.9. Get it from there, unzip it and replace the CoolVLViewer.exe binary in the Cool VL Viewer v1.26.18.9 installation folder with this new one. Then run it and let me know how it fares for you...
