No private or conference voice

There is no longer the crash to desktop which I was originally experiencing. That part is fixed. Now the problem is, only nearby/local voice chat is working. No person to person calls or group calls are working at all. So you cannot have a private conversation and must only use voice chat in the public nearby/local chat. This not ideal or workable for me personally and I think it won't be for others either. For now in order to have a private voice conversation I have to use FS which I hate. There is not a crash log so I am unsure how to provide any log or dump file. I might be able to capture a screenshot of the message that you get when you try to make a call but then it fails if that is helpful? Thanks.

I split your post from the old topic, since the bug corresponding to the said topic was fixed...

Please, elaborate.

What voice type are you trying to use: Vivox or WebRTC (AFAIK, WebRTC is not yet working for conference calls, due to missing server-side support) ?

Are you and the avatars you want to voice with in a region with the same type of voice available ?

Could you, in the exact same conditions, establish a voice communication with LL's official viewer ?

As for the logs, there is debug code in place that could help diagnose a bug, but without knowing what type of voice is being the problem, I cannot tell you what to do to enable the adequate debug messages.

I am not crashing or seeing any crash dump for this but just an update. The only voice function that is working in the current version of the viewer is local voice chat. You cannot call anyone else, it won't connect at all. So no 1 on 1 voice calls or any group calls either. No "private" calling at all. The only voice call function that works is public voice in the nearby local form. Which isn't so good since some places turn off local/nearby voice chat and for other privacy reasons sometimes local/nearby voice is not sufficient. I think maybe its kind of important that this feature should be looked into and tested a bit more. It is a major functionality that many users do indeed use and need to be working.

Please, stop posting in the wrong topic (I had to move again your post in this topic) and read my message above, giving accurate information !
There are now two voice systems in SL: SLVoice and WebRTC, and I need to know if you are not trying to speak with people using a different system (speakers in simulators with different systems), or using WebRTC while they don't have support for it in their viewer, or which one of SLVoice and WebRTC is the failing system if you are indeed all using the same one, so that I can give you instructions about what debug tag to activate to get useful logs !

1.IM Voice (Vivox) not working with the message " an errorr ocured, please try later again". No matter if avatars are on the same sim or not. Reproducible on Linux Mint and Windows 10 on different accounts, different computers, different rl Locations.
2. Now and then (1-3 time per hour) the local Voice connetion drops and reconnect immediatly.

Vivox voice is a dead horse. It will be removed from SL in a few months, at best (likely early 2025). And since I cannot test IM voice here...

Try enabling the "Voice" and "VivoxProtocolParser" debug tags before login (in the "Advanced" menu -> "Debug tags" floater). Then reproduce the bug and post the corresponding viewer log.
If I can spot a bug from the log messages, then I might be able to fix it.

This is "normal". When the voice client fails (for whatever reason), the viewer relaunches one and reconnects automatically.

Voice clients bugs and network issues causing disconnections are not something I can fix viewer-side (at least, I did code the viewer to not crash and auto-reconnect when it happens).

There is not a single DEBUG log message in this log file, and it is not even complete... Please, proceed as I told you to do above.

Thanks for the log, but I do not see any trace of an attempt to establish a peer to pear voice connection with someone else in it...

At what point did it happen (if it did) during this session ?
