I just reproduced & verified with the latest binary from your website...
Help->Report Abuse and the UI is transparent.
Logfiles: attached.
oh by the way, we (my wife and me) are having that issue on four different computers, and "report abuse" triggers it with 100% reliability on all four...

The log doesn't contain any usable info (the viewer was not even logged in when the log was taken): I need the log after the bug appeared.
I cannot reproduce this issue at all, on 5 (five !) different Linux systems, either with or without the workaround for the crash bug activated.
It looks like something entirely different (video card driver bug ?) and not at all related with the original crash bug (anyway, if the workaround is disabled, it just CANNOT be related with it).

again, a log file, with your original binary. logged in, and did "help, report abuse" right after logging in, and that made the whole UI transparent.

one more detail: it does not affect windows...
henri, what version of the nvidia driver for linux are you using? i'm running 256.53 here.
edit: it positively STINKS of a driver issue. going back to 256.35 fixed it for two computers that have geforce8, but not for the other two that have geforce9 cards... rolling those two back even further now, going to update this thread with results.

Using Nvidia 260.19.12 (latest stable driver) on a GTX 460 on my main system. It's working beautifully.

Quick FYI. I don't have the problem if I abuse report. But I do have an nVidia video GTX 470 running the old 195.36.31 driver. I'll update my driver and see what happens. Also when I comment out the export LL_OPENGL_RESTART_CRASH_BUG=x line, i don't have any problems.
I'll get you a log file later tonight.

Quick update: I hooked my laptop to my big screen and am running dualscreen now, same nvidia driver version... and the transparency issue's gone... of course now it's a bad idea to run SL in fullscreen...

Update on this issue for my setup: I've just tried * switching fullscreen and window sizes * changing various graphics settings including hardware graphics settings both with LL_OPENGL_RESTART_CRASH_BUG set and unset. The UI never got transparent, and the viewer never crashed as stated in the release notes.
Thanks for the work on the LLFontCrashPatch_v3 in Cool VL Viewer 1.25.0.21.

I have been seeing a similar bug for a while now, and it occurs at random after I teleport.
