Cool VL Viewer forum

Hi, i use Cool VL Viwer 1.26.1.2 in Jappanese, the name does not appear when my friens are online and offline.

The viewer say just "[FIRST][LAST] はオンラインです。" or "[FIRST][LAST] はオフラインです。" in Japanese.
(means "[FIRST][LAST] is Online","[FIRST][LAST] is Offline")


i can't know which person is online and offline.

But if i use it in English, it doesn't matter.
Is Japanese Language not support for Cool VL Viewer?

I have the same problem with the German version.
Looks funny in the chat history:

Ah, my bad... I forgot to add the deletion of all foreign notifications.xml files in the installer script for the Windows version of v1.26.1... Simply delete notifications.xml in your language sub-directory for skins/default/xui/ (skins/default/xui/ja/notifications.xml, skins/default/xui/de/notifications.xml).

Please note however that the non-english translations of the menus have not been updated (I only speak French and English, and I don't even use the viewer with the French translations given their poor (and sometimes ridiculous) quality), so you will get a mix of English and of your language, sometimes with labels that are too large for the room they are allocated in their menu... For these reasons, I don't recommend using the Cool VL Viewer with anything else than English as the UI language.

EDIT: alternatively, you can re-download the v1.26.1.2 windows package and install it again over your former installation; I just uploaded a properly packaged version, with auto-removal of the deprecated notifications.xml files.

i dont care even if my language is mixed with English, and if there is only English version someday, i will use this wonderful Cool VL Viewer!!

Thank you! I deleted the notifications-file and it works perfect.
and btw, the mix of languages is ok. It's easier for me menupoints in the mix than in pure English.
And I enjoy it so much to use this viewer and be enable to see meshes!
