Version 1.26.0 (18)

I teleported and went to take a snapshot in the destination sim.

First popup came up to let me select snapshot to disk. I did that, the save-to window came up....and it FROZE. Viewer screen (not the save screen) went black. When I clicked in the viewer window, it went white. About 8 minutes later, it finally cleared to let me choose the directory, I clicked to select one, and it froze again. Another four minutes went by and I finally end-tasked it.

I did notice three copies of SLPLugin.exe running. I killed those as well as the dead-in-the-water snowglobe process.

Attached (hopefully) is log snippet.

Interestingly, when I logged back in after killing the extra slplugin processes, taking a snapshot was just dandy.

Hard to tell what happened exactly without a full log, but the Curl warnings are suspect: dead or glitchy network ?... Or perhaps the new Multi-Threaded Curl option acting up ?... In the latter case, try disabling it (uncheck Advanced -> Network -> Multi-Threaded Curl, and restart the viewer).

As for the SLPlugin processes, they should not have anything to do with it (not involved with snapshots at all). To get rid of them, simply close (with the "X" icon) the search floater and any floater using them (avatar profiles, built-in browser floater...).

That was WITH that option disabled. I read that solution in another post, and was trying it out, so I had re-installed 18. Without that option disabled I had hourly crashes.

I just know (1) viewer froze (2) I found three copies running (3) I killed the three copies AND the frozen viewer instance and (4) happy after that. You have more expertise than I do - maybe you can come up with a better explanation, but i can't. I just know, x happened, y fixed it, and if x doesn't happen again I'm fine.

As mentioned previously, the viewer was FROZEN, period, full stop - attempting to close the floater wasn't going anywhere, because it just was NOT responding. I had to use task manager to "end" the three copies of slplugin.exe AND the stalled viewer process.

If I haven't given you enough info to track down the problem, then I'm sorry. I can always go back to (15) and not be a bother anymore. :)

The multi-threaded curl option will be disabled by default in v1.26.0.19 (and v1.26.1.6), since it apparently doesn't play nice with some Windows systems (so far, not report of issues under Linux, but better staying on the safe side here too).

And did you get any more freezes since this happened ?... If not, and given the lack of a proper (full) log file for the last freeze, it's impossible for me to make a more educated guess...

I was not suggesting to close the floater while the viewer was frozen: I was just explaining to you how to get rid of all the SLPlugin processes during a session, so that you could experiment by yourself and see if you could reproduce the freeze without any SLPlugin in memory... I guess I should have been more explicit.
