but something is corrupted on my settings or I don't know what...but it's only happening in Cool so SL tech support won't help, and the people here are so smart I was hoping they would direct me in the right direction to fix it.

Every time I log in somewhere I have logged in before in Cool any time recently, I freeze within a second or two, the game stays like that until I end the exe file in task manager. In order to get into the game, I'm having to go into the market place and look up new sims where stores are and specify them as where I am logging in. That always works, but it won't work a second time for the same sim.

I've tried clearing my cache, pretty much every time, my browser cache, my sim object cache, I've used one of those clear virtual cache devices in game, even though I think they do the same as the sim object cache option. Once I am in the game I can tp home or any of the sims I can't log into just fine, the only problem is on logging.

I have tried removing all versions of SL from my machine and only installing Cool with a clean install with all the items removed from application data and registry that I could find. It helped for the first log in, but not after that.

Because I'm having to manually crash the program, it doesn't seem to be making a log file I can include, the time and date on the crash log is wrong.

I'm running a machine that is a few years old...Windows XP, 4 Gigs Ram, 3.2 GHz Dual Processor and a 1 Gig Nvidea GTX 550
but I don't think the problem is system resources, I can play without lag when I get on. I tried the draw distance stepping with 40 second steps but it didn't help.

Any advice anyone can give me to help fix this would help, I love Cool and it's a wee bit frustrating.

Thanks!

I cannot diagnose anything without a log ! Please, follow the rules of this forum.

The only advice I can give you is to uninstall the Cool VL Viewer (using its provided uninstaller: it will take care of the registry keys), delete the user settings files (for Windows XP, they are in: C:\Documents and Settings\your_login_name_here\Application Data\SecondLife\user_settings\ ), manually delete the Cool VL Viewer cache directory (for Windows XP it is C:\Documents and Settings\your_login_name_here\Local Settings\Application Data\CoolVLViewer), and then reinstall the viewer.

One thing that can cause problems is the Nvidia driver. In my personal experience the current official driver 301.42 causes problems while the beta driver 304.79 works fine for me.
