I've been using Cool VL viewer 1.26.5 for many weeks, always updating as soon as the latest version is available. Before that, I used 1.26.4 for months on my Win7-64 computer. My very favorite thing to do in SL is Chariot Racing at ROMA. I'm good too! Five weekly championships! all with Cool Viewer. The chariots are physical vehicles you sit on and drive with the arrow keys. Smooth turns and precise movement are critical to victory! And I like to win! Today, Cool VL let me down. The problem I was having: very jerky turning. I did the usual Clear Cache, relog, etc., even tried the "old" 1.26.4 but same problem: couldn't make a smooth turn. I tried the LL basic viewer and Firestorm both, and they were fine. I suffered ignominious defeat! Could it be something about the latest server software? Otherwise the viewer seems to work OK, but it must be affected in other ways with physical vehicles!

Like clearly announced in the releases notes, the target omega code was recently changed to match the one of the latest viewer-development code, and I was asking for feedback about it. Your issue is most likely related with these changes...

The good news is that the changes can be reverted via debug settings. First try setting UseNewTargetOmegaCode to FALSE, and see if it cures your issue. If not, reset it to TRUE and set IgnoreJointInfo to FALSE. If still affected by the problem, then set again UseNewTargetOmegaCode to FALSE (so that both UseNewTargetOmegaCode and IgnoreJointInfo are FALSE).

Let me know which settings combination works best for you.

Hi Henri, thanks for the quick reply. I changed the UseNewTargetOmegaCode to FALSE and left the IgnoreJointInfo on TRUE. I relogged, and the problem is fixed. I was dreading the prospect of using a different viewer! I shall dedicate my next Chariot Racing win to you and COOL VL VIEWER!

Thanks for the feedback, I now know for sure that the new target omega code is buggy, but that the legacy joint info code does seem to be useless and can be removed for good in a next release.
