To find out whose fault's it is, I'd try to connect with my computer via another ISP, at a friend's or cyber cafe...

i know exactly who's fault it is, there's a router in new york on my route to LL that is owned by level3.net, heavily overloaded, and dropping up to 50% of the traffic on a bad day.

My ISP (rightly) says: "well, that is not our router, we can't do anything", but LL (who are connected to the internet through level3 and should just simply file a ticket with them) say "it must be your ISP".

Honestly, I absolutely HATE linden labs support with their default "lets try to shift blame to someone else first" practice.

Try emailing to level3.net, telling them their router is dying... They'll probably react...

Yes, I know, henry said "not going there anytime soon", but...
There's a rumor on the main forum that there will be no 1.24 viewer ever, but snowglobe will be the next official viewer at some point...

So... Is there work being done on porting the CoolRelease patchset to snowglobe?

Any way i could help with that?

bye,
LC

And I always do what I say... There is no point in working on adapting the full patch set to a moving target and a viewer plagued with serious bugs...

Rumours are something, simple logic is another. The next viewer will probably be the "viewer 2009", with a fully reworked UI, given LL wants to have their viewer easier to use for the mundane (and often computer illiterate) user... It means that even if some of the concepts developed in Snowglobe will be used for the viewer 2009, the actual code will be very different and will need a full rewrite of many patches... It is therefore not worth working on Snowglobe right now.
