Hey Henri, hello all :)

I just had a notice yesterday about a region where SSB has been enabled earlier than in others and I just went there this morning to basically have the confirmation that it didn't work with the latest usable version for me on the legacy branch (1.26.4.65 on Mac OS X 10.5 - Leopard). And surprise! It works… I expected to see grey people everywhere, but no, people are rendered correctly, no problem at all. I checked in the 'About…' dialog and SSB is enabled indeed (server version 'Second Life RC LeTigre 13.07.03.278295' - the release notes do say SSB is on: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_RC_LeTigre/13#13.07.03.278295).
Did I miss something here? I thought only the latest Cool VL Viewer versions would be able to display avatars correctly when SSB is on? Or have I just been lucky and things will break horribly later? ;)

Thanks!

Correction: I'm getting weird messages 'Unable to load asset' when I get into a SSB-enabled region. Could it be that I'm able to see people, but people are unable to see me…?

… except others see me correctly *bangs her head on the wall*. Well, all in all, it's good news after all… :D

1.26.4.65 was the second v1.26.4 releases with SSB support (see the releases notes for v1.26.4.64), so it is normal that it somewhat works in SSB sims. However, the protocol since changed (probably the reason why you get those warnings in the log) and some bugs were fixed, so I don't recommend using such an old release while v1.4.6.80 for MacOS-X is available and working like a charm.

Not for me, sadly… I'm still on Mac OS X 10.5, and 1.26.4.80 doesn't want to run there, library problem… And it's a computer I'm using for my work, so unless I have a compelling work-related reason to upgrade, I fear that won't happen. If I really get problems, I'll switch to the Windows version via CrossOver, it works reasonably well, except the graphics are not as good as in the 'native' version.
Thank you! :)

Well, perhaps you could as well consider updating your system to a newer MacOS-X version ?

If I could, I would have done it already, the upgrade is like 18€… But I can't. I'll probably manage to get a new one sooner or later though, mine is really too old. Hopefully more sooner than later. ;)
