This is this time in the viewers development when a decision must be made regarding old systems support...
Today, this is about Windows 7 and 8.x support.
LL's latest official viewers already dropped support since they have moved their build system to github, with newer third party libraries builds (among which CEF).
For a couple releases already, the Cool VL Viewer has been using a newer CEF version that just
cannot be built any more for anything else than Windows 10 and newer (see
this announce), meaning Windows 7/8.x users won't have a functional web plugin any more.
I could (at least for a few more more months), restore the compatibility by providing a way to reinstall the old CEF91-based plugin for Win7/8.x users (with the drawback that this old version is also full of dangerous/exploited vulnerabilities), but is this at all needed, i.e. how many of you are still running the viewer under Windows 7 or 8.x ?
