one of my favorite saved outfits right now uses two jacket layers.

one because that is the only way to wear a sweater on top of pants when the pants don't come on underwear, and the other one for the jacket on top of the sweater.

The obviously illegal solution here would be to copybot and photoshop the stuff.

I will then probably keep v1.26.2 around for a while, at least until I open a new v1.26.5 experimental branch which focus will be on upgrading the renderer to the one of LL's latest v3.2 viewer (with all the "Shining" branch fixes, bells and whistles): this should cure all the graphics glitches that the v2.6 renderer got and that v1.26.2/3/4 inherited as a result of using it; this should also make the viewer faster on modern hardware and graphics drivers.

Just please keep in mind that some of us still have issues with the new renderer. Specifically, this holds true for all viewers using renderer >=3 that I have tried (LL, Firestorm, Dolphin), and I have filed a JIRA report.

That said, your work is brilliant and thank you very much for it.

Edit: Fixed a wrong url.

By the time v1.26.6 will be ready and v1.26.4 will get retired as a result, LL's v3.2+ renderer shall have reached a state that make it compatible with all hardware (or at least not less compatible than v2.6 was, v2.6 renderer being used in v1.26.2/3 and future 1.26.4)...

Hi,

Currently, you have two versions of CoolVLViewer:

In one version, you can import meshes from Blender.
In the other version, you have implemented media on a prim

(in addition to other features of course).

From my perspective, "media on a prim" and "import meshes" or orthogonal to each other. They are independent features.
So what would it take to have a version of OpenSim that can handle both "media on a prim" AND "mesh import". The fact that it has not been done, implies that it is more than a day's work. Is that the case, and why is that? After all, the code for both features already exists in the viewer.

Thanks,

Gordon

All mesh-capable versions of the Cool VL Viewer (all v1.26.2 and newer versions) can upload mesh models (with a caveat about Windows builds, for which it doesn't yet work because of a bug in the VS2005 compiler: it will be solved once I'll find the courage to migrate the viewer code and my build system to VS2010... I *so* hate Windoze !...).

There is no support for MOAP in any Cool VL Viewer version for now... It will however come sometimes. I don't have an ETA for it, but it might come to v1.26.4 or to the future v1.26.5 experimental branch.

I don't develop OpenSim (the server)... I only ensure that the Cool VL Viewer is OpenSim-compatible. You would have to ask such a question to OpenSim developers.

Thanks Henri. I had thought that media on the prim already worked in some versions of OpenSim. I'll check and if I find out, I'll be sure to let you know. Merci beaucoup.

MOAP is very exciting. I'm really looking forward to that. I have a question about another feature though. Do you have any timeline in mind for adding .anim file upload ability?

Media doesn't really interest me (I never use music or voice either), but I did want to comment on that:

Please do not feature freeze 1.26.4 ! In a short while it will become the only viewer many computer users will be able to use due to it's V2.6 renderer. There are alot of people who access SL with computers that are at least 5 years old and have no means by which to upgrade them with all of the economic mess the USA and Europe are in...it literally becomes a choice between having essentials to live and work with or upgrade a computer. It is hoped that eventually the economy will rebound enough to be able to afford luxuries such as the latest and greatest graphics capabilities but we are far from having reached that point. Again, please reconsider ! Thank you, - Lord
