Although it still has a few glitches that do not show in the Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5, v1.23.5 users are encouraged to migrate to the Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0 and report any issue to help improve this latter branch before I declare the Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5 as deprecated.
Known v1.25.0 glitches are as follow:
- Some high resolution textures (1024x1024) applied to very small prims may stay grey for a long time before they finally rez (sometimes even requiring to zoom the camera on the prim to make the texture rez fully). This is particularly true with attachments. (SOLVED: see the next message in this thread)
- Under Linux, the built-in web-browser eats up 100% of the CPU power while open (the Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0 works around this problem by reducing the browser thread priority to the minimum and by allowing to destroy the search floater (and its 4 associated embedded browser windows) instead of just hiding it).
- The built-in web-browser creates and uses a cache/ directory at the root of the file system instead of inside the viewer settings and cache sub-directory. (SOLVED: see the newer messages in this thread)
- Under MacOS-X, some mp4 media may fail to play (it is still unclear whether it is just a viewer building issue or an actual bug, since I can't test MacOS-X releases and everything is fine for me under Linux and Windows... Please report issues to Hyang Zhao, who is responsible for MacOS-X builds).
Please report your own experience with v1.25.0 in this thread.
