Could InWorldz be added to the grids.xml file? The login URI is http://inworldz.com:8002/

The grid URI for Meta7 seems to be out of date. I changed it in an older grids.xml and was able to access their grid. The correct URI is http://login.meta7.com:8002/ (from the executable).

Code:
diff CoolVLViewer-Linux_i686-1.23.5.15/app_settings/grids.xml CoolSLViewer-Linux_i686-1.23.5.13/app_settings/grids.xml

<             <key>login_uri</key><string>http://sim-linuxmain.org:8002/</string>

>             <key>login_uri</key><string>http://login.meta7.com:8002/</string>

Thanks for the info. The next release will have the login data updated.

However, this is in no way a bug... Grids come and go, and change their address without notice to the viewer developers, so do not expect the viewers in question to stay in sync with every single change. This is why the Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5 got an editable grids list...

Moving this thread to the General discussion forum, where it belongs.

*laughs*

I originally posted it here, then deleted it and put it in bugs thinking that was the better place for it.

Yeah, it's not a bug. It just seemed more a "bug" than "general." Figures i'd guess wrong :)

Thanks. Keep up the great work. :)

the new stuff in grids.xml should be:

<map>
<key>name</key><string>osgrid.org</string>
<key>label</key><string>OSGrid</string>
<key>login_uri</key><string>http://login.osgrid.org/</string>
<key>helper_uri</key><string>http://helper.osgrid.org/</string>
<key>login_page</key><string>http://osgrid.org/splash</string>
</map>

These changes will be part of the next releases.

Note: I created this new thread to regroup all the grid list change requests. Please, from now on, use this thread to post any request for changes in grids parameters and grids inclusion or deletion to/from grids.xml (default grids list as presented in the viewer grid selector on the login screen).

Firestorm may be compatible with opensim but not all grids based on them allow all viewers to connect.
Island Oasis for example,allow Phoenix and Imprudence to connect,but not any V2 based viewer and more bizzarely, Cool VL is refused even when entering the correct grid parameters.

I guess they filter it based on the channel name... You can override it with the --channel parameter in the command line.
