Hello friends of Cool VL Viewer and Apple-heads,
the coyote has a treat for you: find a Mac OS X binary for download here:

This is quite exactly the same Viewer that Henri offers for Windows and Linux, with very minimal changes to the source to make it build on OS X. As soon as I get to it, I'll be sending the diff of the required changes to Henri so that they'll be part of the main source soon. The binary was build for OS X 10.5 and higher, it should run on any current Mac. It is build as 32 bit binary, building it as 64 bit makes little sense as many of the pre-built libs are 32 bit anyway.
the version if 1.26.0.18, this is the currently stable (non-mesh) branch. The Coyote is still scratching his head about some minor build issues with the Mesh branch, but will provide you all with a binary as soon as that is figured out (but please do NOT hold your brreath, as that is known to cause health hazards and might have you without oxygen for quite some time...)

right now it's not possible to say if I can make building Mac versions of Cool VL a regular thing... my time is hard to predict, so enjoy this one for now :)
With the mac related build fixes in the main source soon it shout on the other hand make it easier for others to build their own binaries again...

Thank you so much Guru for making a Mac version!

Unfortunately for me it crashes immediately upon launching :/

In the Crash Report it says:

"Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: /_sl1/cvl/linden/indra/build-darwin-i386/llcommon/Release/libllcommon.dylib"

in case that is of any help.

Thanks for that report, the error messages does very much help. I have a clear idea what is wrong with the build (dylib loadding path are absolut insteas of relative)... the real trick will be to find why this is happening.

Update: Yup, issue spotted, issue fixed. The URL posted earlier now contains an updated binary that has this issue fixed.

This build launches and seems to work great. I've played around with it for about 20 mins, and no problems so far. I'll be using it the rest of the day--if I encounter anything odd I'll post a follow-up here.

Is your mac version a diff file as well, and if so, where would I point someone to get the mac version of snowglobe to put down first -- or is this a complete version, no separate snowglobe download required?

It's a complete version, no snowglobe download required.
