Cool VL Viewer forum

Hi Henri, i'm an happy user of Cool Viewer and Singularity,
( i made the french translation of Singularity for Siana ).
i made (just adapted this and that for some of them) several viewers skins for the V1
(basically for Singularity but of course they works for any V1)
but i'm not sure with the rules of the forum to be admitted to insert my webpage link here.

You are welcome to link to your site, as long as it is not commercial and deals directly with Second Life or OpenSim.

of course it is juste dedicated to the V1 Viewers ( mesh v1)
with severals helps for singularity and some NICE words too on your great work,
direct links on your web site and forum too etc....
the site is in french, but the way to get the xtra skins and to add them in a viewer
is made with "pictures" , so very simple.

Note that the Cool VL Viewer doesn't scan for extra skins (it only knows and cares about the default/, silver/ and dark/ skin sub-directories), so your installation instructions should be changed to match those I already gave here.

Thanks Henri, of course my install jpg is made for singularity.
bu except the name of the viewer it is similar
skin folder to find and just add the Skin_Name.xml and the Folder who are in my Zip.



PS your fonction convert to jpg2000 is great , because some viewers images need to be in .j2c

No !!!... This will not work with the Cool VL Viewer (because it doesn't care or even know about additional skins and your Skin_Name.xml is only taken into account by viewers which got special code to add new skins, something I didn't implement in the Cool VL Viewer).

The only valid method to use a third party skin with the Cool VL Viewer is to use the trick I described in details here.

but i had a problem too for singularity and as i rewrote even for some moreless similars
the colors.xml i was thinking that is was ok....
but i just try and of course you are right !!
i will try to translate your method and i will add it on my site
for a "special" cool V install


PS i made your trick and of course it works but i have a question
if i want to add more skins ...i just did for one... renamed silver as silver-old
and my new skin as silver and it works
i suppose it can be the same for the two others
but to add more that 3 skins ?

maybe just only two, i supposed that if i rename default .....bye bye the Xui langage folder lol
something different, i tried to add my own translation (made for singularity) and this work not badly
no special trick just add it in the Xui folder

so if i get it well ... we can only have two skin (+ the default) in cool V ?

You can only replace the silver and dark skin folders: the default skin cannot be replaced.
