Ok, I've only taken a very cursory look at tcmalloc, so please correct me if I'm wrong...

Wouldn't the use of tcmalloc change the way allocated memory is placed in the adress space? The memory layout will likely be different between using and not using tcmalloc. Could that have any effect?
