I have downloaded and installed LL's Snowglobe from the link on your website, and then downloaded and installed CoolVL v1.25, and it works very well. However, I am confused about whether I installed the correct version of Snowglobe from LL's website. The link on the CoolVL webpage is to Snowglobe v1.4.1.3580, but the text there says that the difference files are based on Snowglobe v1.5 (v1.5.0.3625).

I used SnowGlobe v1.4.1.3580 because that was the version in the link. CoolVL runs perfectly fine. I just wanted to make sure that this was the correct way to do this. Should I have downloaded Snowglobe v1.5.0.3625 instead? Or is the idea to use the stable Snowglobe v1.4.1 as a base and the difference files simply add in the functions of Snowglobe v1.5 that are useful?

Yes, you did the right thing. The reason why the overlay/diff package is built against v1.4.1 and not v1.5.0 is because the latter is not a release version and the link for the binary in the download page of LL will change with the next SVN commit for v1.5.0 while it will stay the same for v1.4.1 till v1.4.2 is out.
Also, v1.4.1 got "SnowglobeRelease.exe" as the executable name under Windows, while v1.5.0 got "SnowglobeTestBuild.exe" for a name, and the overlay package for the Cool VL Viewer has to overwrite the executable and is named "SnowglobeRelease.exe".
