Hey there.

Since shortly I get that error message when I'm in my home place when rezzing or after rebake. That goes together with a really weird friend. I can see the avatar like it is.. shape, skin , hair..clothes.. but her face is different. it seems that the head and skin are shown correctly but some facials are not natural.. different eyes.. no eye make up, other eye brows.. looks very different and I'm the only one seeing that avatar as I do.. it's normal for everyone else. Any ideas?

And I'm also facing the following: I see myself quite often as a cloud and after a tp I most often don't see anything but maybe hands of myself.. I have to detach some clothes and when I wear em again I can see it most often.. zooming far out and back in doesn't help. Is there a setting that has got changed recently? that is happening since two or three prior versions...

Not a viewer issue, but a server one... It happens, sometimes, and is usually the sign the sim needs a restart.

Change sim, and use "Add to outfit" on the folder containing the partially worn outfit: it will wear the rest and you should then be able to bake fully and rez everything.

You may also encounter AIS3 errors (again a server-side issue) with failures to bake, in which case you may switch AIS off from the Advanced -> Network menu, and "Add to outfit again" (do not forget to switch AIS3 back on, on next session or after TP, since it is still better/faster, when it works, than the old UDP inventory messaging protocol).

Looking at the log (CTRL SHIFT 4) will tell you what is going wrong (AIS3 error messages are huge however, and may scroll off the log console lines too fast: look in the log file instead).

Hi Henri,

thank you again for the fast reply. I will try that.

but.. will that also solve the issue with my friend that I see different than all the others ?.. she also tried rebake, clothes change.. it's only me seeing her like that she is a different person.

That was switched off when I looked at it. I turn it on now and see what happens.

with the AIS3 switched on it seems to be a bit better, but

- I still e.g. can't see the hair of that one other avatar
- and every time I tp to somewhere I can only see my own head and the hands.. that's it. Can that really be a server thing? or maybe something with the viewer?

Now, as I tp'd back to the place where everything rezzed before, I can see everything... makes me wonder, if there is somewhere a switch that hinders my own clothes to rezz after a tp

Try ALT SHIFT R, the shortcut to "Advanced" -> "Rendering" -> "Refresh visibility of objects".

This normally occurs automatically after each TP or sim change or login to workaround a years old (decade old even) race condition between servers and viewers. Of course, if you disabled it in the debug settings ("ObjectsVisibilityAutoRefreshDelay" and "ObjectsVisibilityAutoRefreshMask"), you will need to trigger it manually instead... It might also be that your network is so slow that you'd need to nudge "ObjectsVisibilityAutoRefreshDelay" to 4 or 5 seconds...

If the above does not solve your issue, post the logs...

That shortcut worked perfectly. Great!

I'm now checking the two debug settings
- AutoRefreshDelay was on 3 (Default), I raised it to 5
- ..Mask value set to 7 what is the default value.. but honestly I don't understand the help text to it..

I just tp'd to another sim now and again I can see only the head, hands and some other little part of the body.. Alt + shift + R makes everything visible.. somehow that automatic seem to not work as it should everywhere.. most probably a sim server issue I think...

thanks again. That shortcut I won't forget :)

Update:

With that Shortcut I can get myself visible if it gets stuck again in rendering. good!

Unfortunately I'm still facing the issue that sometimes e.g. my colorful avatar glasses get black..all of a sudden although they have been colored before.

And one big issue is that one particular avatar I do still not see like others do see it.. The hair doesn't get rendered and the face looks like a different one, at least the make-up, the eyes are totally different.. I double checked with other avatars. it's only that particular one .. what is really strange.. Also the other avatar changed everything and wore it again but without any effect ..

Here's a link to download the log file, that even as a compressed zip-file is too big to attach:

The log says it all:

It means there is a network issue, causing failed mesh skins downloads... This could be the CDN server you are hitting. Try and use a different DNS, in another country, so that it would cause another CDN server IP to be given to the viewer to use...

In any case, this is not something I can solve for you, the viewer not being the culprit, here.

mmmhh. .. but would that affect only one avatar and also myself e.g. with the glasses and no others? Could it possibly also be a problem that the lindens should restart that sim ?
