Hey, since I have a pretty old computer, I would love to get the DD lower than 64m.. the performance of Cool Viewer is awesome in comparison to firestorm e.g., but the effect gets pretty much nullified when I enter a crowded sim. On FS I used to enter full sims with a DD of 10 or 5 even.

For now I would be happy if I could get pointed to some xml file, where I can manually enter the lowest allowed value (in hope that it is that easy :) )

You may edit skins/default/xui/en-us/floater_camera.xml and change min_val="64" for min_val="16", for example (and then change the draw distance from the camera floater)... But I won't recommend going bellow 32m of draw distance... If your computer can't even deal with that, it's perhaps about time to change for a newer one... Also, for crowded sims, consider reducing the max number of non-impostor avatars in the Graphics settings tab of the Preferences floater.

A new computer is definitely on my list, but for now the advise you gave me, is the quicker and cheaper solution. Thank you very much!

Hello all,

Does anyone know if there is any possibility to reduce the draw distance below the minimum of 64, even only temporarily? It seems SL can use one at 32, but I can't find a way to set it myself. I've looked in the debug settings, but there doesn't seem to be anything there. Am I missing something? Or is it just not possible? I would need that to take some pictures in quite laggy, but closed places, where all the rezzing of the things I can't see consume way too much of my crappy bandwidth, and make the rezzing of the things nearer to me way too long…

Thank you! :)
