Lately we have experienced some voice problems, both in the former and newest viewer (.28). Voice is as it is disabled, with no controls or anything. A relog most of the time fixes it, sometimes takes 2-3 relogs before it appears.

This is only the windows version that we have the problem with, in the mac version voice works fine.

Attached is the log from a session where it failed.

There has been no change, viewer side, to voice in years. However, LL already said they would break voice for old viewers, because they would change the voice client (SLVoice) to a newer one, for which they won't provide a Linux binary...

Since I'm not using voice myself, and I'm only interested in Linux (I'm only providing a Windows binary as a service to SLers, but the Cool VL Viewer has always been and will always be a *Linux* viewer, that *may* happen to compile and work for other OSes), it's unlikely that I will bother "fixing" it (which won't be possible for Linux anyway)... Please, complain to LL for their lack of Linux support.

I just had a try, under both Linux and Windows 7, with two different avatars. Voice is still working just fine (for now)...

Check that your firewall is not blocking SLVoice.exe on both local (for communication via its ports between itself and the viewer) and public (for Internet connection itself) networks.

Yea it happens random, sometimes is there, sometimes require one or more relogs to work. We don't use it much either, why we first found out now. Maybe someone else will chime in if they use it.
