All other 64 bit viewers I have tried, have no problem with any of my passwords, Cool VL refuses to accept any of them (3 avatars)

all are 20 characters long, all contain any valid ascii character >0x20 password <0x7f
#1 contains upper, lower case letters, numbers, %, +, |
#2 managed to be all numbers and letters (upper and lower case)
#3 ^, ?, &, . and the usual assortment of upper/lower case letters and numbers

The #2 having only letters and numbers makes me theorize it is probably a length issue.

I use a password safe, and copy paste all of my passwords, the chances of my clipboard messing up 2 viewers out of 7 tried, and all 3 accounts on the marketplace, forums, etc. SL web server is close enough to zero that the margin of error will put it over the line

I have lost patience with trying to get each new SL 32 bit viewer to work on 64 bit linux, no matter which distro I pick, and am trying 64 bit viewers, and it seems yours is most likely the only one that can deal with the VMM (which seems silly to me in the first place, since all it does is take up inventory slots, and load the internal browser which breaks half the time anyway).

Is there a length limit, or characters I Can not use in your viewer?

Also looked closer at the Cool VL Viewer detected video card, I have no idea what is installed that would have anything to do with vmware, virtualbox yes, but not vmware.

The password length limit is 64 characters, so that won't be an issue.

My guess is that you are having a locale issue (combination of ISO-8859* and UTF-8 locales ?): what happens if you *type* the password instead of copy/pasting it ? The Cool VL Viewer makes use of the Xlib library for copy/paste (both primary (mouse-drag-over selection to copy and middle button to paste) and secondary (CTRL C/V) Linux copy/paste buffers are supported), instead of the GTK+ copy/paste buffer for other viewers (I got fully rid of the old GTK+ v2 dependency for my viewer): this could cause issues if you use a specialized desktop-environment copy/paste utility working with a locale (normally UTF-8) while the viewer is using another locale (ISO), depending on what you configured your Linux system for.

But I cannot tell what's happening without reproducing the issue myself. I'd need an example password (not yours, of course, but one you'd have made up on purpose, tested as not working; and then changed again for your own password before posting the test password here).

Please note that VMware and VirtualBox virtual machines do not allow to run any viewer (even the Cool VL Viewer) properly, due to incomplete/buggy graphics drivers (bad/bogus OpenGL support). I'm also failing to see why you would need to use a VM to run the viewer (just use the Linux binaries under Linux, the Windows binaries under Windows, the MacOS-X binaries under MacOS-X...).

Also, please, update. You are using an old version (you are lagging 10 releases behind)...

updated.same issues password: OWJ6YS3u75vfMBJOCcpQ
works fine password:rZvVYrm66S

interestingly wWZpJ/ws6vnq@1Ul.|51 failed on two other browsers typed or pasted.

All other passwords have workjed fine typed or pasted, linux and android (lumia)

Thought I updated to the latest last time, sorry about that

hand typing does not work either, nor does

Not using a virtual machine, as I said NO CLUE where that is coming from, I suspect that some stuff I did to develop for android did something, I noticed within moments that things were weird since I followed the instructions to develope some specific android software.

For example I can no longer use auto tools, I Can not use some of the android tools that worked previously,m going to take a look at thos instructions and see if I Can see anything that would make the world screwy.

I tried to register a new avatar in SL with that password, but it was rejected: "Passwords must be 6 to 16 characters in length", and you password is 20 characters long. So, the issue is with SL itself, not the viewer: your password is simply too long (and the 4 excess letters were probably ignored when you changed it).

10 characters, so fine for SL.

20 characters: too long again for SL.

I just registered a test account with "wWZpJ/ws6vnq@1Ul" as a password (i.e. same password, but truncated to 16 characters), then copied and pasted it in the viewer and could log in just fine...

What are you speaking about now ? Android ? The viewer doesn't run under Android !

In any case, there is no viewer-side issue, as far as I can tell; your "non working" passwords just couldn't work (too long for SL, not for the viewer).
