Is there a 32bit version or how to make the 64bit work on a 32bit machine...
He gets an error message trying to install it saying he can't install on his machine....
PS. Friend needs new PC, but can't get one now... but if there is a way to get Cool VL on his 32bit machine, (Window 10 Pro updated from Windows 7 or Vista, I forget which), that will be awesome.

You cannot install a 64 bits viewer on a 32 bits OS. While the Cool VL Viewer can still be compiled for 32 bits systems, I do not provide any more 32 bits binaries for Linux neither Windows.

If you wish to compile a 32 bits viewer, please follow the instructions given in the sources archive, in the doc/ subdirectory (doc/WindowsBuildHowto.txt) for Windows.

Also, I will point out that the last 32 bits-only x86 CPUs ceased to be produced around 2007 (with perhaps the exception of the seldom used and rarely seen VIA CPUs, which started producing 64 bits model in 2008 only, or of some Atom CPUs, which are totally inappropriate/insufficient to run a SL viewer anyway), that's almost 10 years ago; I personally bought my last 32 bits CPU, an Athlon XP 3200+ in 2003, i.e. 14 years ago !
So, your friend probably already got a 64-bits capable CPU on their system (or should really consider upgrading to a newer, even cheap modern system, for even the entry level computers available today will run SL viewers infinitely better that their current system does); if they do, then they just have to install a 64 bits OS on it...

the SL sources archive or is there another area I should be looking in. The SL source archive was quite confusing and I'm not sure exactly where to look.
He does have a 64bit CPU but the OS is 32bit. Apparently he got Windows 10 32bit free... Anyways, please direct me to the exact location of these source files...

I will smack my friend very hard for updating to Windows 10 in the first place, especially a 32bit one... lol

The sources tar ball (use 7zip under Windows to extract its contents) is provided on the Cool VL Viewer website, in the download section...
