Hello,

here is the issue I am facing randomly ( 1 out 3 or 4 start ), and since 4 or 6 months ( or more -not sure ). on linux.

At the start of the Viewer, it starts normally :
offline IMs are shown
the avatar renders ( most of the time, but not always )
the world renders

but after maybe 5 seconds, no new rendering takes place. and everything is ultra slow. Staying logged will then lead to a disconnection after somthing like 4 5 minutes.
When this issue appears, then the messages that come at bottom left of the viewer stay there, instead of vanishing after the preset time.
when he issue appears I also notice a lot of messages in blue in the console log ( Cool VL Viewer logs in the linux console

Logs are attached.

Thanks for looking into it :-)

No log (CoolVLViewer.log, not the useless files you attached: see the forum rules), no diagnosis, no possible solution/debugging...

I couldn't attach because it's 84 KBcompressed at the highest.

does this work ?
extension z01 not allowed..

coolvlviewer.log.z01.zip needs to be renamed to coolvlviewer.log.z01
coolvlviewer.log.zip

issue is happening one every 2 or 3 starts

The log shows that the problem is with your network: the viewer apparently cannot reach some services. Check that your firewall is not blocking anything, and, if you are using a WiFi "router", check that it is able to deal with enough simultaneous connections (many cheap so-called "routers" cannot deal with more than a dozen simultaneously open ports, and a SL viewer can use dozens at once).

I am on Ethernet. ADSL on two different locations. and now Fibre. And I still get the same issue, one out two or three times.
At first I thought I was making it happen when starting the viewer to fast : eg, logging in before the editor's picks and such were displayed.
I'm on linux/SSD and the viewer starts super fast !

All I can tell you is that there's a network issue and that the problem comes from there.

Not a viewer bug anyway: also using it under Linux for 14 years, so I think I would have noticed (never saw such a thing happening here)...

Check your firewall rules, your Ethernet cable/connectors, etc...

maybe a router issue.
But the only thing I do to have it working properly again is I restart the viewer.
run 1 : bad session : superslow. hover text remains.
I stop. I start viewer again.
run 2 : good session : 100 % of time. 50% of time I will have to put back some alphas, and eyebrows and skin and shape.

when I compare a session where everything runs fine, to a session that goes wrong from the beginning, here's the difference in the logs :
the wrong session has tons of messages like this:

log is actually 5.6 MB instead of 400KB

what are all these posting of stats ?

when shutting down, the viewer logs this 4176 times :
2020-03-18T21:55:47Z WARNING: LLViewerStats::getAvatarRenderStatsCoro: HTTP error getting avatar rendering stats for region 'Muletto'. Status: Operation cancelled

It looks like, somehow, your system returns a bogus clock/date: the total (run) time equals 585000 years !

This would explain the many stats posted, as well as the network timeouts...

I think you struck to the point.
I'm on dual boot windows/linux, and the time shifts forward 1 hour when I switch from one to the other.
it could explain the issue I'm facing.

I will look at this point carefully, and will let you know.
