Unchecking the "remember login credential" box doesn't do the trick. What am I missing?

This check box only governs the "last login" settings (stored in the debug settings of the viewer branch you are currently using, meaning there are separate such settings for each branch), and prevents storing new credentials in the saved grids logins file, but after the credential have been saved once in the latter file, they stay there forever, regardless of the check box status on next login...

Also, please note that only the first viewer session will touch the saved login credentials (subsequent sessions, launched while the first session is still running, will not touch the credentials, for obvious conflict/race conditions issues).

If you wish to remove the saved credentials for a given grid, you'll have to edit the user_settings/saved_grids_login.xml file manually (remove the entire corresponding block from <map> to </map>).

Granted, there could be a way to easily remove saved grids login credentials... I'll consider adding such a feature.

Thank for considering it, that would be wonderful.

Thank for looking into the HUD malfunction in Tiny Empires as well.

Please reconsider enabling us to remove saved login credentials. In some households, the computer is used by more than one person. It would be more secure if one could remove the saved credentials. Thank you once again. Cool Viewer is awesome!

Err... This has been implemented a few months ago already... Just make sure to un-check the "Remember login credentials" check box on the login screen, and do login (at least once) with the avatar on the grid you wish the see the credentials forgotten. After a successful login, the credentials file (user_settings/saved_grids_login.xml) gets your avatar entry removed for that grid, and of course the saved settings will not have your avatar name and password hash stored either.

If you want to secure such things, you'd better be using a separate user account for each household member (each protected by a password and without admin privilege)... Then no one can use another person's file without their permission (the viewer settings and configuration files are kept in a directory that pertains to the user account, so no risk to see them shared by mistake).

Tried your suggestion and it did not work. Name still appears in list of possible names.

You should update at the very least least every couple "recommended update" notice in the "Latest * releases" announcements... Beside new features, a lot of problematic/annoying bugs are fixed in those.

But it isn't allowing me to add a new one, despite the "Remember login credentials" being checked. What now?

You might have to un-check and re-check the "Remember login credentials" check box before login in... I'll fix that in next release.
