While looking through my system logs I noticed these and wondered if anyone could help:
Code:
Apr 03 10:37:32 zane systemd-coredump[38869]: Resource limits disable core dumping for process 38775 (dullahan_host).
Apr 03 10:37:32 zane systemd-coredump[38869]: Process 38775 (dullahan_host) of user 1000 dumped core.
Apr 03 10:37:33 zane systemd-coredump[38889]: Resource limits disable core dumping for process 38875 (dullahan_host).
Apr 03 10:37:33 zane systemd-coredump[38889]: Process 38875 (dullahan_host) of user 1000 dumped core.
Note: the viewer seems to operate properly. I can view web content in world, etc. There are accompanying messages, presumably logged to stdout/err:
Code:
[0403/103732.787978:ERROR:validation_errors.cc(87)] Invalid message: VALIDATION_ERROR_DESERIALIZATION_FAILED
[0403/103732.788427:ERROR:gpu_child_thread.cc(56)] Mojo error in GPU process: Validation failed for viz.mojom.FrameSinkManager.4  [VALIDATION_ERROR_DESERIALIZATION_FAILED]

I have not been able to get a core dump even though the ulimit on my user seems appropriate (unlimted). I ran the viewer from the command line and piped stdout/err to a file to capture the additional warnings/errors. I'm attaching it along with the official log.

This is the "expected behaviour" with CEF 77+ under Linux (and perhaps macOS as well, but the viewer so far keeps using CEF 72 for the latter)...

This CEF bug has been duly reported to the CEF developers, but they apparently expect me to fix it ! Like if I had any time available for this... They even flagged the bug as "minor" (I should perhaps do the same with viewer crashes, so that I won't have to bother and fix them ?... :o )

You can safely ignore these crashes however (the viewer wrapper script even goes as far as to set the ulimit so that no crash dump will be written down and clobber your hard disk/SSD, thus why you did not get any): they won't prevent CEF to "work fine" (well as fine as this bloated piece of pure crap can work).

Ah, that's a nice bit of information and I apologize if it had been mentioned before. I tried searching the forum but didn't dig very deep. Nice of you to set the ulimit too. I wondered why my machine wasn't bogged down by core dumps. :-)
