Hey there!
I'm looking for a way to change the default width of the columns of the Radar Floater. I want to have the Name column much wider. May it be possible in the settings xml?
Thanks in advance! Frank

Err... The names column uses a dynamic width (only the other columns got their width fixed and hard-coded, so that they use exactly the space they need).
To expand the name column, simply enlarge the radar floater... Drag one of its sides to make it wider.

Hi Henri,
thank you for the fast response! Yes, i know that but as I always have to do it I thought it would be great if I could change it somewhere like in the account settings xml or something..to not always have to grab it..

The floater remembers the size (and position) you give it, so there is not any need to "always have to grab it": you just resize it the way you like, and it will be kept exactly that way till you change its size again. What is the problem ????

If that would have been the case, I'd not have written that post I will do some testing on it.. So far, whenever I start the viewer new and then open the Radar floater it gets to its default values. It get of course saved during one session.. I will do some distinct testing to tell yo more about it

The size and position of all floaters are saved at viewer exit. However, if you are running several viewer instances at once, only the first started instance will save its global settings (so to avoid conflicts), and so you must set the Radar size in that first viewer instance before exiting it.
If you are running an unique instance, then there is a problem with your settings file... The viewer log would tell you what is wrong.

Okay. I'll check that.
I'm always running only instance. But as I had so many all of a sudden crashes there may have been something gotten corrupted

Here is what I observe: The size and position of the floating window is indeed saved and recalled correctly. But with every new login (always single instances) the columns within the Radar Floater go back to default values. Is there any way for me to change these default values? Maybe in the account settings xml?

Hi Henri,
here's my logfile. I changed the column size of column one (Name) in the radar to what I've wanted it, left the radar open before closing.
Then I run the viewer again, logged in, could see the radar floater where it was left before but all the columns get back to default sizes.
Can you see what may have gotten wrong that it don't keeps the column sizes? I believe it was never working for me...

You CANNOT change the default columns size, only the default Radar floater size !!! This is exactly what I explained above... If you want a larger Name column by default, simply make the Radar floater wider: its new size (and position) will be remembered over sessions, and the default name column size will get enlarged to fill up the Radar floater width, less the fixed size of the other columns.
