As many others, lately I'm suffering from this. Sometimes attachments simply will not detach. (I'm enclosing a log of the last time it happened today, for good measure.) Is there a way to refresh attachments without relogging?

Thanks!

The only unusual thing in the log is a warning about an unexpected baked image Id... This could be related to a missing body part with BoM.

However, there is sadly nothing that can be done viewer-side for this new server-side bug, and only a relog can "fix" it when it happens.

In v1.32.2.18, I implemented a "Refresh attachments" feature, similar to the one found in other TPVs (not sure which one came up with it first).

Although I already made the Cool VL Viewer extremely resilient to bogus attach/detach events sometimes sent by servers (usually after a sim crossing or a TP, and either plain bogus events or out of order ones due to race conditions), with the new server bug there is still the possibility that an attachment would be seen rezzed in the Cool VL Viewer and not in other viewers, or that you could not get the server to detach it when needed, or that its scripts won't work; this would be because, seen from the server, that attachment won't be attached any more... This is where the new "Refresh attachments" feature could help, since it (re)sends an order to attach all inventory objects that the viewer "knows" they should be attached to your avatar...

Note however that I could not test this feature, since I never encountered such a bug so far. Let me know if it solves the issue for you...

Normally, in such cases, I just detach and reattach the items and it fixes it, which is why I never needed this feature before (and it's very rare anyway). But this new bug of refusing to detach something is very frequent. I hope LL fixes it.

Thank you so much, Henri! You are fantastic ♥ I'll try it out, next time it happens, and let you know!

I was looking for this workaround, and here it is.
I just read the release notes, downloaded. ready to test.
(This issue has been bugging me everyday for two weeks now)

Thank you Henri :)

I have been encountering the issue too, in the past few days. The fact I did not notice it before was probably due to frequenting sims with non-buggy server versions.

The current fix does not refresh HUDs (at first, I thought it would be unnecessary, but it appears that it is needed as well). Next release will also refresh HUDs, and there will be an option for auto-refresh on sim changes (TP or border crossing alike).

So, it happened to me yesterday again. I changed outfits, but the shoes of the old outfit remained. I tried detaching them, they wouldn't. I refreshed attachments, tried to detach them and still they wouldn't, but I right clicked > edited the shoes from the inventory and immediately they disappeared along with the edit window. In the meantime I had asked a friend whether they could see the shoes on me and they couldn't, so they were ghosts. Perhaps we've found a workaround? I don't know. On the plus side, others couldn't see the shoes and after all that I could not either, which pleases me :)

This new server-side bug is a total mess... Thankfully, LL is "working on it", so it may get solved "soon" (still, I doubt it will before two od three weeks/rolling restarts).
