If I start the Coolviewer, I am very often a cloud. And therefore i musst than restart....it may be four times. Is that normal?

This does not depend on the viewer you are using, but on the network bandwidth, how fast your inventory loads (larger inventories load slower, of course), and whether or not your inventory list was fully cached by the viewer at the previous session.
It also depends on SL's asset servers lag...

Note that restarting while still a cloud doesn't help and is actually detrimental (since the inventory never gets properly cached when you log off before it could fully load).

The Cool VL Viewer however offers you one setting that might help having your inventory cached and thus your avatar rezzed faster.

In the Preferences floater, "Cool features" tab and "Miscellaneous" sub-tab, check the "Automatically fetch the inventory in the background after login", then login (or relog), open your inventory tab and wait till the number of items in the inventory floater title stills. Then log off again and relog (this ensures your newly cached inventory is saved, which would fail should you crash before the next relog). You should then no more experience long delays for your avatar rezzing, unless you got a very slow network connection...

Thank you very much, Henri for your answer. I do it also, like you mean. But afterwards it was the same, as before. If I start the CoolV. I am very often a cloud, also my SL-wife. If I start instead the Emerald or the Kirstens or the 1.23 - I am always never a Cloud. It is for me only a problem of the CoolV. My Internet Connection is fine, my Computer is brandnew and powerfull.

Be sure to use different cache folders for each viewer. Set the cache directory in the Preferences floater, Network tab.

There is no reason whatsoever that you would rez slower with the the Cool VL Viewer (much to the contrary actually... The Cool VL Viewer is one of the fastest viewers around and much faster than Emerald and Kirtsens). I personnally never rez as a cloud, but on the few days when SL got asset servers troubles.

Not only I have this problem (only) with the CoolV. - my (SL)-son also, my (SL)-wife also, any friends also. That MUSST be a problem of only the CoolV. and has nothing to do with slower rezzing or alike. The CoolV. rezz very quick, but these clouds at the beginning are bad.

I am sorry, but I cannot reproduce the problem here, and so far, you have been the only person to complain about it...

I noticed quite often that when you set your network speed too low you stay clouded.
of course, if you network speed has to be that low, you're up shit creek w/o a paddle.

preferences/network.
to find out what your value should be, take your webbrowser to http://www.speedtest.net/, use the map and select a server in san francisco, then run the test.
you'll get a result that reads like "3.518 megabits". that means, in preferences/network, don't set the value higher than 3000.

Thank you, this information helped me figure out how to de-cloud myself. Actually, what I did was to re-wear items I was already wearing, since for some odd reason this time it was allowing me to to that. So it was basically a round about way of making it load, inspired by the answer Henri gave. *chuckles*
