Cool VL Viewer forum

This probably isnt a Viewer thing but for the past 2 weeks my Map for around 70% of the time is only showing the sims as gray squares..can see the green dots but thats it, no terrain or anything just gray. The mini map is ok. Sometimes it is gray around the sims where i am but if i search somewhere sometimes all the detail shows up....but again, not always. Weird !

Any thoughts as to why this is happening ?

Indeed not a viewer issue... The Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0 does display the maps properly when using the web map tiles, but not when using the asset server maps (which includes the terrain-only layer maps, since these are not created as web map tiles at all), and since v1.23.5 and v1.19.2 can only display asset server map tiles, they are also affected.

I suggest everyone concerned tries with the official viewer v1.23.5 and then reports the issue to LL via support tickets (if you don't use their official viewer in your ticket, they will refuse to fix the issue, pretending it's a TPV issue...).

It could be either a glitch in their asset sever map tiles generation scripts, or a sign that LL tries to force people to move to viewer 2 (which also got web map tiles support, like Snowglobe v1 and the Cool VL Viewer v1.25.0). In the latter case, they would then be lying about their actual intention to keep supporting viewer v1.23... and I would have to implement web map tiles in the Cool VL Viewer v1.23.5 (not hard to do).
