Cool VL Viewer forum

First I want to say that I know this isn't a problem with Cool VL Viewer, the problem is only happening on one character, but it's not a problem with my character in the general SL system because it's not happening with this character when I load up Phoenix or Impudence.

What is happening is that after several weeks of no problems at all, suddenly out of the blue, without crashing, today SL stopped allowing me to wear any inventory item that was a prim. Shoes, skirts, hair, you name it, the wear option is totally grayed out on these items. Any clothing files no longer have the "add to outfit" "replace outfit" "take off outfit" options lit up.

Like all my installations of SL I made Cool VL it's own inventory file in the Cool VL main file, and when this happened I cleared my inventory cache, and just for giggles the group cache and the region object cache. Go big or go home. This had no effect on the problem.

I don't think a reinstall is the answer, because my daughters character works just fine on my install, her inventory doesn't show any of my problems. Can any of you brilliant people come up with a possible solution or know of something I might have checked by accident in a lag burst that could cause this?

My guess is that you have RestrainedLove enabled and an object is locked on your avatar. By default, the viewer doesn't allow "Wear", "Add to outfit", "Replace outfit" when an object is locked (because there is a risk that these commands would kick the locked object, and although the latter would then be automatically reattached within 15 seconds or so, some RestrainedLove objects (the older ones) are not coded to accept this kind of event). To enable "Wear" and "Add to outfit" (and Co), simply go to the Advanced -> RestrainedLove menu and check the corresponding options.
