Only for objects that are farther than 20m away, by enabling the "Do not look at or point to objects beyond 20m" in the "Miscellaneous" sub-tab, "Cool features" tab of the "Preferences" floater.

If it's an easy thing to let us choose to limit that range to 0, or 0.1 if it needs to be a number, I would really appreciate it. If not though, that's totally fine. Thank you for all your hard work on the viewer regardless! It's definitely the best one out there.

You can reduce the minimum distance to 5m in the "Preferences" floater, "Cool features" tab, "Miscellaneous" sub-tab. You may also edit the "PrivateLookatLimit" debug setting directly and set it to 0 if it fancies you, but then your avatar will mostly look like a robot.

I'll implement a separate setting for "point at" in the next release.
