Hello,
with cool i am seeing some ppl going blurry, then clear, then blurry again. This game repeats.
I tried to clear the cache but no luck.
The same game happens to others too who dont use cool, so it might not be a cool specific issue but a render one, or maybe a combination of viewers.
But other ppl i see stable all the time, so it is just odd...
I am using cool 1.26.2.11
Any ideas?

This could be the sign of either too small a video card memory, or too small an amount of main memory.
Enable the Texture Console (Advanced -> Consoles -> Texture Console) and watch the "Bias" parameter: when it goes up (above 0), have a look at the memory bar graph in the status bar as well as at the "GL Tot" and "Bound" numbers in the texture console.
If the memory bar graph is yellow or red while the bias increases (and the textures blur as a result), this is because of a low main memory condition (try enabling "Allow Swapping" in the Advanced menu and see if it helps; you may also decrease your Draw Distance to lower the number of textures in your camera field of view and thus allocate more memory to the textures of the closer objects). This is Cool VL Viewer specific (the other viewers would simply crash in such conditions).
If the "GL Tot" and/or "Bound" numbers show XXX/YYY figures with XXX close or above to YYY while the bias increases, then you are lacking video memory to render the scene in full details (try increasing the "Texture Memory" in the Hardware options of the Graphics preferences, but keep this number *below* (by 1/4th or so) the actual amount of memory available on your graphics card since this memory must not only hold textures but also VBOs etc; here again, decreasing the draw distance might prove efficient enough). This is a generic issue happening with any viewer.

Hello Henri,
thank you for your tips. I will try them and report.
Only funny thing is, it is always the same avatars (skin) that go blurry to me while others and her prims are staying stable, and the same moment i see them going blurry one other sees them going blurry too, but not every one who is around does see this... so its really strange.
This happens to me since i updated from 1.26.2.5 to 1.26.2.11, i have not yet tried to downgrade again. Anyways i need to wait til this evening when the one is back on where i can reliably reproduce this issue.
So thanks again.

Ah... that will happen when that avatar changes clothes or skin or makeup... basically anything that renders directly on the avatar shape. When that happens, the client of that avatar renders a new composite of all the skin and clothes and uploads that to the server. And the server then prompts all the people around to download the new avatar-textures. During the download that avatar will turn blurry until the textures are completely loaded.
If that person is not explicitly changing any skin or clothes, then it may be that his/her client is somehow causing this.
So basically on your end everything may be working fine, but the problem may actually be on the other person's side.

Yes, it may happen that the "baked texture" (the texture resulting from the composition of the skin and cloth layers) fails to get uploaded properly for one avatar or that another user's viewer fails to download it and keeps re-requesting it. The definitive solution is to kindly ask to the player of the avatar which skin keeps reloading to "rebake" (CTRL ALT R). This is not something you can solve on your side...

Even though i still dont understand the circumstances why this happened, it is solved now.
Strange enough is, when she was using firestorm under Windows it happened to me, but when she switched to Linux, same version of that viewer it did not happen to me. Maybe default settings on firestorm are different under Windows and Linux, maybe anything else, i dont know...
Finally increasing texture memory as you said here some postings before did the trick for me.
So thank you all who had some helpful ideas.
