Cool VL Viewer forum

Hi,
Sorry if this is a known issue--I'm very new to SL and Cool Viewer (just dl'ed SL today and someone suggested I use Cool Viewer since my laptop couldn't seem to handle SL). I did search the boards but didn't come up with anything. When I dl'ed Cool Viewer, near the end of the installation, after the bit about the snow globe, it informed me that some components were missing and that this would negatively affect how well the program runs.

I haven't the first clue what to do about this, so if there's a fix, I need baby-step instructions.

I'm running Win7.

I did read that before posting, but the step I got where it said some components were missing isn't there. I know it's probably me, and I'm overlooking something obvious, but I don't see how to fix this.

Hi Sophia,

When you install Cool VL Viewer, it has to download a few additional goodies from Linden Labs (SL) to optimize the viewer. In order to accomplish that, you must be connected to the internet during installation and allow it to retrieve the required files. The installer will fetch them automatically & install them. The viewer will run without the extras but it won't be as optimized as it could be.

Thank you both. I overlooked that part of the instructions because I was connected to the internet when I installed. Maybe there was some sort of glitch.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling, while online. Even better, redownload the Cool VL Viewer installer before you try.
