Is there a way to remove "New IM" tab from communicate

Post Is there a way to remove "New IM" tab from communicate
I often use alt left and right arrow to switch between IMs and local chat, docking local chat in communicate works nicely, but it annoys me when I get stuck on "New IM" tab that breaks this flow. Is there a way to undock it and close it completely?

No, there is not, and this tab is needed to be able to undock all the others (chat and IMs).
