Post subject:  Problem displaying some mesh objects

Hello all,

I just found out that I seem to have a problem displaying some mesh objects. It seems to impact only me though, other people are seeing them, so it might be viewer -related. I reproduced the problem with this one (which is a free demo):
https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/Wc ... MO/3072462
If I take one of the items in this package, wether I wear it or I drop it on the floor, the piece of clothing doesn't appear, and there are yellow triangles popping out. Looks like they're supposed to indicate a script error, but when I click on them, the script error window shows up, but it's empty…

Can anyone reproduce the problem? Can it be a problem with my settings or something? I tried a lot of things: logging out then back in, changing region, tweak a few settings, but nothing worked… I can try to wipe everything out and restart with a clean install, but I'd hate to do that if it doesn't solve anything…

Thanks!

The "triangles" are in fact pyramid icons indicating that a mesh object failed to load. You should be able to see the corresponding warning message in the logs.

I got the demo mesh, and it works just fine for me. The usual suspects for failing meshes are a bad network connection or an unreachable mesh asset server (this is an HTTP server). This could be because of a closed outbound port on your firewall (outbound ports in the range 12000-13999 shall be let open or the viewer will fail downloading assets or connecting to sims at one point or another), or because of a bad DNS entry (bad or corrupted DNS). Only the viewer logs could tell for sure...

OK, I definitely should do what I'm told: spent a few time watching the logs, but I didn't see anything significant there. Then I just tried what the designer of the items told me: I wiped out my settings, cleared my cache and started again. That was it: when I logged back in and after waiting for my inv to load, I could wear the mesh things without problem. Must have been something corrupted either in the cache or the settings. Strange I got no clue in the logs though…

Well, anyway, thanks for the help and sorry for the noise again… At least, that can be some advice to those to whom it happens too: don't think, do what you're told. ;)
