Hi, I went first to secondlife answers, and was advised I should come to this forum for help. I got a group invite from a person while I was offline. This is what showed up in my email (offline messages): ??? (???) has invited you to join a group. I was given a link to a JIRA that talked about this, but it appears the issue was related to a backend problem and supposedly fixed. I don't think it's fixed, because I see people's names sometimes as ??? when talking in chat or in private chat. I don't use "display names" because I find it too confusing. So I only ever see "user" names. Is there something that can be done about this? Thank you. |

This is in no way a viewer bug... It happens that SL servers don't reply (or reply very slowly) to name resolution requests, especially to legacy names requests (which are used by the viewer if you disable display names). |

Yes, I thought so too. I was sceptical that posting here would do much good. I told them I was offline which meant it had nothing to do with the viewer I was using. Thank you, Henri, I really appreciate your response  and I LOVE COOL VL VIEWER!!!! Thank you!
