Installer bug: Runtime Error R6034

After installing the latest versions - and I say versions, because it has happened consistently for several versions now - the Cool VL Viewer triggers "Runtime Error!" window pop-ups, (several times) which you can click "OK" and they go away, with no other consequences detected.
It's just an annoying bug, every time you launch the viewer (and sometimes in other tasks like Search).

I found out how to eliminate this: simply delete the "msvcp80.dll" and "msvcr80.dll" files the installer insists in copying to the program folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\CoolVLViewer-1.26.4), with every new version.
So, please Msr. Henri Beauchamp, stop including these files in the installer, since they are deprecated, not used or needed by the system, and cause errors - the "msvcp100.dll" and "msvcr100.dll" files seem to be doing the job well enough.
Thank you.

Please, Ms Carla, read the installation howto (and especially the red NOTE at the bottom of the howto) and instead of saying things you don't know anything about, just install the MSVC runtime update on your system. The vc80 runtime is *needed* so to be able to reuse Snowglobe's KDU library and SLVoice that were compiled with VS2005.
The fact the viewer loads properly on your system but that SLPlugin.exe fails simply demonstrates that some other software messed up badly with the system MSVC runtimes.

Please Msr. Henri, instead of assuming what I know or don't know anything about, be informed that I relayed information found on SL and MS forum threads. Also be informed I do have the latest updates of the MSVC 2005 AND 2010.
I re-installed everything, and the problem remains: with the msvcp80 and msvcr80 files in the program folder, the annoying pop-ups return. I delete them and they disappear, and that's the solution I propose to all users who are annoyed by the pop-ups, and possibly do not even care to use SL-voice, as I don't.
If you read the forums - the dll files (as well as Snowglobe) ARE deprecated and should not be used.
Thank you.

They are NOT. They are required to run DLLs and binaries that have been compiled with VS2005 (libkdu.dll, SLVoice.exe and its DLLs): if you are not convinced, just reinstall Windows on a clean partition and then install the viewer. You'll see that it works just fine and that should you delete the vc80 DLLs it stops working and complains about missing runtimes.
If your system is crippled it's not my fault. Follow the instructions I pointed you to and the viewer will work as expected. If you prefer to follow the advices given by some random person on a random forum than from the author of the program who is also a professional programmer and has been programming for the past 35 years, then don't come back and complain things don't work as expected.

There seems to be a problem in communicating with you.
I DID follow your instructions, and the problem still occurs. YOUR INSTRUCTIONS DO NOT FIX THE PROBLEM!
Again you assume my system is crippled. Yet when I delete those files, I have NO PROBLEMS AT ALL.
SO it seems TO ME, - a mere know nothing and no experience in programming, who has in the past recommended Cool VL to all her friends, as the best no glitch viewer available - that the solution is DELETE THE FILES.
Maybe the 35 years of programming is catching up on you?

If you have no experience in programming, then shut up ! I told you to try and reinstall a genuine, virgin Windows system and then install the Cool VL Viewer on it: you will then see that it works perfectly fine. YES, your system is CRIPPLED !

This is perhaps due to an incompatible vcredist package being installed on your system: to check that, you could try and delete (or temporarily move away) the msvcp80.dll/msvcr80.dll and/or msvcp100.dll/msvcr100.dll DLLs from the viewer installation directory and see what happens (try the first couple (move away *100.dll, letting *80.dll in there), then the other (put back *100.dll in, move *80.dll away), then both, and see what happens).

So glad to see you agree with me, and that my proposed solution was actually one you had already advised.
My apologies for inconveniencing you, problem solved, thread closed.
