hello,

something I noticed when I was last restricted ( doesn't happen often )
this happens : when names are restricted.

if someone uses a device that displays the name of the user, then it's possible to see the name of the user, when we shouldn't.

the message is displayed like this - names have been changed ;-) :

[2021-08-01 17:19:35] : That resident spanks Henri's ass.

"that resident" is clickable, and then a window pops up. The avatar name is then displayed .

Would it be possible to make it that when names-restricted, we are forbidden to follow the link or see the avatar name that used the device ?

Thanks ! :-)

should I report it to the RLV developper too ?
So all RLV implementations benefit from it ?

Only in the event their own implementation shows the same behaviour, which should be tested for each RLV viewer... The Cool VL Viewer got an implementation that is compatible with Marine's, but since it's a v1 viewer, the code is different and diverged a lot with current RLV viewers.

Hello,

another one here

when sitting on a object which asks to attach an object such as a comb, glass of wine
a blue popup will come up saying
Hairbrush, an object owned by Henri Resident, would like to attach to your avatar
is this OK ?

Would be nice to hide the name in the blue popup menu

actually. same goes for the names of the furniture. Furniture menu give the name :
Henri resident's ' nice furniture v4.0 ' menu
AVSitter

Thanks ! =)

The user shall always be left the choice to trust or distrust specific avatars, and anonymizing their names would prevent it (making the user an easy target for griefers).

When it comes to accept script actions and attach actions performed by scripts, the names shall not be hidden. And by the way, it won't reveal which avatar around yours is performing that action when the @shownames restriction is in force.

So, no, I will not change this, since this is the expected/wanted behaviour.

hello,

using a scanner such as those that show what clothes are worn, the name of the wearer ( target of the scanner ) is hidden under ' an agent ' or similar, but there is a link that can be followed and it opens the profile.
Same for the name of the creator, but I guess this is not important.

"What's she wearing" is an example of such a scanner.

is it possible that links be removed ?

thanks :-)

I do not know what "scanner" you are referring to, neither what is its output or how and in what format it outputs its info...

Be aware that anyhow, there are many different ways for a script to emit text, and even more ways to format that text; the viewer simply cannot cover all possible ways to get avatar names through (*)...

Also, the Cool VL Viewer does not attempt to plug all ways to cheat RestrainedLove (there will always be ways to cheat it, even in the "hardened" RestrainedLove viewers), especially if it means making the viewer slower ! If people want to cheat, it is their problem, but I do not see why I would impose to others the drawback of a slower viewer on the pretext to try (and likely fail) to forbid cheating.

(*) Especially since there may be legit usages that do not contradict the @shownames restriction usage (which is initially only meant to hide surrounding avatar names, not all SL avatars), where you do want scripts to get names through...
