I think speak for a lot of people that skip between CoolVLViewer and any V3-based viewer when I say it would be nice to use the COF folder instead of a local xml file to save the current outfit...

I think this also applies for anyone with more than one computer and/or more than one operating system... ("Oh, this seems to be what I was wearing last time I was using this mac... mixed with what i was wearing last time i was logged in..." )

...pretty please? as an option? it could be turned off by default?

One little checkbox in preferences, "[ ] Use the Current Outfit Folder instead of a local xml file to store the avatar appearance" or something?

The "COF" is a monstrosity and its implementation in v3 viewers is laughable.

Sorry, but no.

Bad thing is that there is no way to just search by the "folder names" in the current outfits, it aways searches through all the items in it.

So there is no good way to quickly find specific outfits. :-(

I'd really like a "search in folder names only" toggle in inventory search. :D

I must be misunderstanding what you mean. Inventory search *does* find folder-names quite happily. If you use a consistent naming-convention for your outfit folders, you can easily restrict your search to folders only.

The inventory search indeed also matches folder names... if you mean "showing the full content of a folder matching the search pattern", then no, it doesn't work that way, but it's easy to achieve the latter by searching for the pattern then, once you found the right folder, select it and cancel the search pattern (with the "X" button in the search pattern input line): the inventory will expand again to display all assets with only your found folder open (and any previously opened folder) and its full contents.
